KAZAKHSTAN: HIGH PARAFFIN/WAXEY OIL
WELL LOCATION: TURKMENOIL FIELD, KASAKHSTAN.
WELL TYPE: VERTICAL, 2000m / 6,562ft, 35 API Oil with high paraffin content. Zone temperature 27°C / 80°F. Surface Fluid temp 32°C / 89.6° F.
PRE-INSTALLATION HISTORY:
Average production: 180 bopd w/130,000 cf gas. This well has a high production rate, however the production strand will completely plug with paraffin
within 72 hours of production. Due to the high paraffin/wax content daily hot oil services are required to keep the production strand open.
N-LINE HEAT TECHNOLOGY APPLIED:
A TUBING HEATER, COMPUTER CONTROL PANEL for surface monitoring and control, TRANSFORMER, DOWN HOLE SENSOR AND SURFACE SENSOR, were supplied by N-Line Tools.
The TUBING HEATER was installed at a depth of 609 m / 2000ft., 100ft below the paraffin deposits.
Heat was applied an initial production was 230 bopd. Production stabilized at 180 bopd, the downhole temperature was maintained at 105° C / 221°F and the surface fluid temperature stablilized at 50°C / 122°F.
The increase in temperature resulted in continuous paraffin free, maintenance free production.
INDIA Annulus Heater Heavy Oil Recovery
WELL LOCATION: MEHSANA BLOCK, INDIA
WELL TYPE: VERTICAL, 3600 ft, 8API OIL, Zone temp 55°C / 131°F
PRE-INSTALLATION HISTORY:
This well was drilled in the 1980's, however, the oil was very heavy and could not be produced with standard production methods. Rod and pump, and pcp methods had been
attempted with no success.
N-Line HEAT TECHNOLOGY APPLIED:
N-Line Tools supplied and ANNULUS HEATER, COMPUTER CONTROL PANEL for surface monitoring and control, DOWN HOLD AND SURFACE SENSORS.
The ANNULUS HEATER was installed at 3600 ft near the perforations. The pump was installed above the heater.
The N-Line Heater applied heat to the annulus fluid raising the viscosity. A surface fluid temperature of 66°C / 150°F was achived.
With the N-Line Tools Heater Technology the FIRST OIL IN HISTORY WAS PRODUCTED IN THE MEHSANA BLOCK INDIA.
BRAZIL
WELL LOCATION: BAHIA, BRAZIL
WELL TYPE: VERTICAL, 3300 FT, 14 API oil, Zone Temperature 62°C / 143°F
PRE-INSTALLATION WELL HISTORY:
This oil well was drilled in the 1980's. The oil was heavy (14API) and had never been produced in marketable quantities.
In addition this oil had a very high paraffin/wax content.
N-LINE HEAT TECHNOLOGY APPLIED:
N-Line Tools provided an ANNULUS HEATER, COMPUTER CONTROL PANEL for surface control and monitoring, DOWN HOLE SENSOR AND SURFACE SENSOR.
The ANNULUS HEATER was installed at 3300ft near the perforations. The downhole fluid temperature was raised to 109°C / 228°F which stabilized the surface fluid
temperature at 42°C / 107°F. The heat applied raised the API to 35 and allowed for an initial production rate of 4 BOPH(hour). 100 barrels of oil was
produced in the first 18 hours of production. Production rates gradually stabilized at 6 BOPH (144 BOPD).
VENEZUALA
N-Line Tools is currently working with PDVSA on project development. Tubing, annulus, pipeline and injections units are being designed to meet the unique problems Venezuala’s heavy oil poses.
